Grocery Shopping
I don't know about ya'll, but I cannot stand grocery shopping. I will use everything in the cabinets to avoid going sometimes. Especially now, due to the storm I know people will be there restocking their bare refrigerator shelves with meat and replacing everything else that is spoiled.
This week in Weight Watchers they reiterated some techniques that people use to have a successful trip without breaking the budget and allowing yourself to be super healthy. One tip that I have heard time and time again is to stay on the perimeter of the store for the majority of your shopping trip. In most stores, the perimeter is where all of the natural, non-processed foods are. After you fill your cart with all natural goodies, then you can hop into the center isles to pick up the canned goods and other items.
Several members in the meeting noted that they just straight up AVOID any isles where they know the unhealthy, greasy, but o-so-delicious snacks are. Many shoppers make the step of mindlessly traveling down each and every isle.Just because. It becomes a routine. AND IT IS NOT NECESSARY. Except for those special times of the year (holidays) or if you have guests, most of us purchase similar groceries on every trip and we go to the grocery store. So create your own navigation route for the grocery store near you, and make some healthy choices.
