Workout Motivation

Yesterday on Oprah Radio I heard one of her guests say that failure is all about your perspective. In some events, it is almost good to fail because it helps you to remember the experience. When we succeed, it is hard to remember the details of the experience that got you to succeed but when you FAIL. You KNOW, that you remember every waking detail of how you messed up. So what we need to do is use that to propel us forward to succeed after we pick ourselves back up off the floor.

Amber and I are not perfect and we make mistakes too. Many that we are too embarrassed to share with ya'll. BUT, we are in this journey right with you. There have been days when we have thrown  tantrums in the gym and couldn't get ourselves to do another rep of an exercise or another (insert 4 letter word) 5 minutes of cardio. There have been days when we weighed in and gained weight and cried. But we are learning. Our failures will ultimately make us stronger. And the same goes for you as well.

Let's make June a month of change and positiveness.

  2. Failure can mean different things and like you said it is about your perspective. It can mean to be unsuccessful or to fall short. It can also mean to be incapable. I don't believe any of us are incapable of achieving our dreams and goals but yes we can fall short. I believe that as long as we get back up and try again then we can NEVER fail.

I have the same moments you do. I attempt something and fall short of the standards I have set for myself but it doesn't mean I failed. It just means I have to find a knew route and try again. It's all about reaching the destination. There will be days when we have to try a new way of getting there.

There is no shame in that. I think that sharing your struggles shows a great amount of strength and helps inspire others. The journey of weight loss is not always easy so people are motivated when they see how you managed to accomplish your goals despite the challenges and "failure".
