The older I get, the more I realize and appreciate the females in my life. They keep me grounded, sane, motivated and inspired.
In the past few months, I have been searching to find some girl time in my hectic schedule. I get so wrapped up in planning the wedding, spending time with my fiance, work and school that I forget that I need some down time with a bottle of Moscato and some girl friends. My girl over at Everyday Polish started a book club where a few of us can all get together once a month to discuss the book of the month and anything else that is happening in our lives with plenty of wine and hors d'oeuvres and did I mention more wine? Last month we read The Red Leather Diary by Lily Koppel and this month we are reading Extremely Loud, Incredibly Close.
I honestly don't think I have been so excited about reading before. Our first meeting was so much fun, and we just enjoyed speaking about the book and getting to know eachother. There were 6 ladies present, all career driven working professionals from different backgrounds, pursuing or who have already obtained a masters degree or higher, motivated to succeed.
I feel like I have something great to look forward to at least once a month.
