To begin, each day you must consume at least 10 glasses of water and abstain from all alcohol.
Day 1: Consume all fruits excepts bananas. It is also strongly suggested that a large portion of these fruits are melons. This is supposed to prepare your system for the upcoming days. The fruits can be fresh or canned in natural juices.
Day 2: Begin the day with a large baked potato for breakfast with a small amount of butter only. The rest of the day you consume veggies. The potato will help give you energy and balance for the rest of the day while the vegetables are low in calories and give an abundance of fiber and nutrients.
Day 3: Consume any amount of all fruits and veggies, except bananas. There is no potato today because the fruit will provide enough carbohydrates to give you energy. This is also the day when cravings should start to disappear and the pounds should be falling off.
Day 4: Consume up to 8 bananas and 3 glasses of milk. To supplement the bananas and milk, you can have some of the "special soup", but not in large quantities. Most people will not be able to consume 8 whole bananas, which is okay. The bananas are used to give you potassium and some sodium that were missing in the first 3 days of the GM Diet.
Day 5: Consume two 10oz portions of lean beef combined with 6 tomatoes. Ground beef is considered okay as a substitute. On this day, you also need to increase your water intake to 14 glasses of water for the entire day. This day is all about iron, protein, and fiber. The total amount of beef to be consumed is equal to 4 quarter pounders, but this does not all have to be eaten. However, it is imperative to eat 6 whole tomatoes.
Day 6: Consume unlimited amounts of beef and vegetables. This is the day that you should start to see and feel a noticeable difference in your energy and appearance.
Day 7: Consume brown rice, fruit juices (unsweetened) and vegetables only. You are all done!
If you are looking for a much more detailed approach to the GM Diet, I would check out THIS website which actually gives potential menus each day. From my last experience on the GM Diet, it is really not that bad because you can eat a good amount of food each day. I did some research on my own after the first day because I was feeling a bit light-headed, and I added in some unsalted dry-roasted peanuts for extra-ooph and protein to help and I was still able to lose over 10lbs.
Have you ever tried the GM Diet or a detox before? If so, how was it?
I've never heard of this one.
ReplyDeleteIf you want my honest opinion, it sounds silly. 8 bananas in one day? But the previous days you can't have any?
What if instead you focused on each day...one thing. Like making sure you are eating a variety of fruits. The next day - trying some different veggies than you normally eat or in a different combination or prepared method. The next day swapping out your normal grains with the best whole grains you can find. The next day making sure you have the leanest meats you can find.
I'm just a big believer in pursuing "diets"/eating habits that you can do all the time. Not just a week or two.
